New York City is getting a little friendlier, one button at a time. We've all seen visitors to our city struggling with city and subway maps, confusing sign posts, and in general, trying to make some sense of getting around. Sure, there are helpful police, shopkeepers, hotel clerks, and tour guides with general directions, but the real secret to knowing New York lies within the knowledge of its full-time residents. So, let's break the ice. Anyone wearing one of our "Ask Me I Live Here" buttons is letting visitors know it's OK to ask for directions, recommendations, suggestions, or any other area advice which will make the visitor feel welcome and enhance their impression of New York.
Eventually, our buttons will become commonplace, worn by hundreds, thousands, (if not millions) of proud New Yorkers, assisting visitors from all over the world by streamlining and enhancing their trip to New York.
